Dataset containing the public rights of way of Wiltshire
The council of Wiltshire provides a web page that has information about their open data. If you type in "rights of way" in the "Search" box, it will lead to this web page. Clicking on the Public Rights of Way link provides a web page that has information about their public rights of way. If you click on the Download button on this web page, you will be able to download their data in various formats. If instead of clicking on Download you click the "I want to use this" button, a new menu that includes "View API Resources" appears. Clicking "View API Resources" provides a link to the data in GeoJSON format. This link goes to this GeoJSON file.

The Council also provides information about public rights of way on its online map. It may be that their map uses more up-to-date information.

The details of the public rights of way network contained in an authority's data are for information only, and are an interpretation of the Definitive Map, not the Definitive Map itself, and should not be relied on for determining the position or alignment of any public right of way. For legal purposes, an authority's data does not replace their Definitive Map. And changes may have been made to the Definitive Map that are not included in their data. The authority's data contains Ordnance Survey data © Crown copyright and database right 2026. Attempting to view this data with more detail than 1:10000 may produce an inaccurate rendering of the route of a public right of way.
